Armenian Perok Cake

  1. Cream butter and sugar together.
  2. Mix in eggs, vanilla and sour cream.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt in.
  4. Remove a handful of batter, thicken with extra flour to create lattice top.
  5. Spread batter into greased 9inch pan.
  6. Spread jam on top.
  7. Create lattice with reserved dough.
  8. Brush lattice with extra egg whites.
  9. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
