Caramel Cake

Cake

  1. Mix the flour with the salt and soda.
  2. Break the butter into little pieces, add sugar and mix until it is creamy.
  3. Add milk
  4. Add eggs one at a time.
  5. Melt the chocolate in a cup over some steam, then add it to the butter/sugar/egg mixture.
  6. Add vanilla and mix well.
  7. Bake in two 9" plates at 350F for 25 minute.
  8. Cover with the caramel icing.

Icing

  1. Combine the milk, brown sugar and sugar and mix until the mixture is boiling. Leave boiling, without mixing, until it forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water.
  2. Add butter and remove from the heat. When it is lukewarm, beat until it looks firmer and is opaque.
